RTÜK Attended the 62nd Meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA)
The 62nd Meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) was held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, hosted by the Commission on Television and Radio (CTR) of Armenia.
Member institutions and permanent observers participated in the meeting. During the EPRA Agora (Plenary) session, information was shared on current developments in the audiovisual media field, and views were exchanged on opportunities for cooperation among member authorities.
Thematic sessions of the program addressed regulatory approaches to defining, promoting, and protecting media pluralism in the digital age. Representing the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), RTÜK Members Dr. Necdet İpekyüz, İlhan Taşcı, and RTÜK Vice President Deniz Güler attended the meeting. Participants from EPRA member countries interactively evaluated strategies and policy proposals to strengthen pluralism in the rapidly changing media environment.
The sessions also touched upon new areas of debate raised by digital platforms regarding their power to shape public opinion, transparency, and democratic accountability. Furthermore, given that artificial intelligence technologies are transforming the way information is produced, distributed, and consumed today, the dynamic relationship between platform management, artificial intelligence, and media pluralism was discussed in depth.
In the final part of the meeting, best practice examples and recommendations were shared on the creation and implementation of annual and multi-year strategies to adapt to the changing media ecosystem.
