A delegation from the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) participated in the World DAB session held as part of IBC2026, the International Broadcasting Convention, which brought together leading professionals and organizations from the global broadcasting and media technology sector in Amsterdam.

The delegation included RTÜK Council Members Hasan Davulcu and İlhan Taşcı, as well as RTÜK Expert Selahattin Başar Allıoğlu from the Department of Licensing and Allocations and RTÜK Expert Şahin Coşkun from the Department of Information Technologies.

At the session titled “Broadcast Radio's Moment: Resilient, Relevant, Irreplaceable,” RTÜK Expert Selahattin Başar Allıoğlu, from the Department of Licensing and Allocations, delivered a presentation entitled “Türkiye: An Emerging DAB+ Market.”

During the presentation, developments regarding DAB+ trial broadcasts in Türkiye and the future of digital terrestrial radio were shared with international representatives of the broadcasting industry. The presentation also highlighted the potential of DAB+ technology in terms of efficient spectrum use and enhanced broadcasting quality.

During the Q&A session, questions from participants concerning Türkiye’s DAB+ developments, the transition to digital radio, and the participation of new broadcasters in the sector were addressed.

The session provided an opportunity to share Türkiye’s ongoing work in the field of DAB+ with international industry representatives and to exchange views on digital radio practices and experiences in different countries.
